Caddie-Member Golf

Today was the Dearborn Country Club Caddie-Member day. One of the best reasons to caddie. What a great time.

But first I must mention Today was Jack Nicklaus' last round of golf as a Professional. HE has retired from the game of golf. In an emotional final walk down at hole 18 at Saint Andrews, where golf all began, Jack waved back to applauding fans. Jack had a hell of a career and has the winnest record.


SO today at Caddie-member I arrive in a memberlike fashion and take a look at the pairing sheet. and I DONT SEE MY NAME! Well Joe Isnt around so I decide to join Max and Tin at the range. SO after hitting at the range for about 20 minutes I head back up to pro shop an dsee Joe who informs me I have a group and one of the members is standing there.  So I shake hands, nice guy, we had a great time. Later on I also met the other member in the group, also a nice guy. Well there is a problem here. There is supposed to be 2 caddies in a group and 2 members.....WE only had 1 caddie!!!! So I had to play for two people. Which means I had to hit two tee shots....and proceed to play both balls. Which basically means I played 36 holes of golf in HOT weather. They also gave me an Handicap of 36 whcih is as high as your handciap can be......I AM NOT A 36 HANDICAP!!!!! I'm like 16.....SO I was practically stealing the show. WE ended up -12 which gave us third place. Not to bad...we had a good time.
Couple interesting things happened though....
1. I got to go into the 19th hole to get peanuts for one of the members....Caddies ARE NEVER allowed in there. As most of you know my goal is to become a country club member after I graduate from college. Well walking in there was like, wooooo in ten years I will be a member in here. Playing with caddies for the caddiemember day. I was giddy! LAUGH all u want....SO I walk in, like a member get roasted peanuts and walk out. All in a member/soon to be member like fashion.

2. When I get back to the halfway house one of the members asks me, out of nowhere, if I had a GF. Due to the shock and absudirty of this statement I say yes, remembering seconds late rI don't. He then says, oh then I won't introduce you to my daughter who is working over there at the pool. Shes a lifeguard. So we drive by, he yells "Hi! *name withheld*" She waves back.....I was like dammit, what the hell was I thinking??? HE was serious......because later at dinner his wife came and I was talking to them and he says, "I asked Tony if he had a GF to set him up with *name withheld*. They both go to UM-D and he also graduated from DHS." The mom/wife laughs.

3. I Got closest to the pin on hole 15. I was about 8 feet away from the hole. I won Callaway golf balls and a sweet callaway hat.

<----Pin was back right.....I flew the front right bunker and put the ball within 8 feet of pin. Beating prior caddie who was about 12 feet to pin.
The evening ended and that was that.

U HEARD IT HERE FIRST PEOPLE!!!!!! I WILL BECOME A DEARBORN COUNTRY CLUB MEMBER!!! That's the lifestyle for me.....

well I am VERY tired from playing golf for two people. I am also very sore. But it was a good day....good people....good times....
